DORCHESTER, Mass., September 19, 2017 – A job fair organized by the Fairmount Job Referral Network attracted more than 100 prospective applicants to the Bornstein and Pearl Food Production Center. Stone & Skillet, a new tenant at Dorchester Bay’s economic development hub and recipient of small business financing from the Dorchester Bay Loan Fund, partnered with the Network to fill seven new jobs.
More than thirty job-seekers were interviewed on-site for the $15/hour jobs. Twelve job-seekers have been selected for a final round of interviews.
Dara Frederick, Business Employment Specialist for the Fairmount Job Referral Network led the hiring event effort. “Stone & Skillet has been a great partner and they’ve demonstrated their commitment to seeking out local talent by leveraging the Network to fill their positions,” said Frederick. “This is a great example of how the right partnerships can foster economic opportunity along the Fairmount Corridor.”
Job seekers in the Dorchester Bay EDC service area can call (617) 288-AJOB or stop by Dorchester Bay during normal business hours to explore employment and training opportunities.
