On December 8, entrepreneurs, artists, residents, community development workers, and community partners gathered at the Roxbury Innovation Center for the launch of DotThought™, a Dorchester Bay EDC speaker series. Featured speaker Dr. Banu Özkazanç-Pan of UMass Boston led a conversation about barriers to entrepreneurship in Boston’s underserved communities, opportunities to eliminate income inequality, and the importance of increasing diversity in Boston’s booming tech industry.
Attendees discussed the challenges of accessing capital, obstacles to building wealth in communities of color, and the need for more resources that support minority entrepreneurship. After the main event, guests continued the discussion well into the evening.
Thanks to Dr. Banu Banu Özkazanç-Pan and all of our guests for making DotThought™ a big success!
